I Made It!!!

I made the team over at Scrap For A Cure! I'm so excited! It's a great site, they pic a "project" to sponsor every 3 months, and a portion of their proceeds from the monthly kits go towards that particular cause. Anyway, I should be getting my first kit within a few days and I cannot wait! Here is the last layout I did for the last round. The challenge was to create a page about myself.

I'm a happy scrapper!! I made it to the second round of the design team search challenge over at Scrap For a Cure! What better kit club to design for than one that supports so many great causes!?!? Round 2 will be over Sept. 7, and I'll find out if I made it through that round on the 10th, I think. Anyway, here is the layout I did for round 1. The challenge was to use a clock somewhere on the page, and use the word "time" in the title somewhere.

All the layouts I'm posting have either already been published in previous issues of SNA or was not needed for the issue is was made for. Also, they are having a design team call and a really awesome give away if you submit for the calls!

Wow, can you believe that I actually have a few layouts to share with ya? Yep, I sure do. Now, don't think I haven't been scrapping, cause I have. It's pretty safe to say that I have scrapped more in the past 3 months than I did the whole year of 2007! The ezine is keeping me super busy, and I like it that way! After the July 1st deadline, I have a few weeks before the next shipment comes in, so I can scrap for myself. These layouts were actually created for a contest, but I misread the deadline, thinking it was 10pm when it was really 10am, go figure!
This first one was a lift from the very talanted Alexis Hardy...

And this one was a challenge to use your stash, and the American Crafts paper I've had for a VERY long time! And btw, that's my little sister, Danielle! Isn't she beautiful!

Last, but certainly not least, this was an ad challenge. I don't have the original ad to post, sorry. But I absolutly LOVE how this one turned out!!

It's packed with some awesome ideas, both traditional and digital! Plus there are some really fun calls open for the Nov/Dec issue and we would love to have you submit something!

Be sure and check out the new contest over at the Scrap N Art homepage. It's super simple and there is a HUGE prize pack that our friends at Rusty Pickle has donated for the lucky winner! You'll also want to register on the site before June 7 to be entered in yet ANOTHER huge prize pack, just for registering! How hard can that be? We have had some amazing donations so far, and there are lots more contests and challenges on the message board, and in the May/June issue (which is a free download, btw!), for you to get a chance at them for yourself! And one more thing, we are currently taking submissions for our Sept/Oct issue! There is a list of the calls we're interested in for that issue on the main page. What's the use of having a scrap blog if I never post anything? I bet that is what a lot of you are thinking?? Well, I have just been so incredibly busy with stuff for the SNA ezine, and everything I have done the past few weeks is for that and I can't post it yet. BE SURE you get signed up for it, the premier issue is just days away from being debuted!! (and it's free, so why wouldn't you??) Also, the calls for the next issue are up on the site and we already have them flowing in, so show us YOUR stuff!

Have you ever had one of those nights when you go to bed, thinking you were tired, only to get something on your mind and getting back up to scrap? Well that's what happened to me last night! There was a challenge to use "text" on a lo, like paper from a book or newspaper, etc. Well, I got to thinking about it and nothing would do but to get up and work on it. The new message boards are open to the public now! It has been available to the dt hopefuls for the past few weeks and we have all been busy getting it ready for everyone else. It's a great place to be and all the gals there are GREAT!!! So if you've been hunting that perfect place to call home, or if you just like being a part of several online scrapping communities, be sure to join us at The Scrap Pad. There are monthly contests, sketches, new product previews and lots of fun chitter chatter! Over at TLL for their round 2 of the DT call. You really need to get over there and sign up, like I said before, there is so many cool things in the works over there! For one, the message board will be making it's debut sometime this weekend! I'd love to invite you to join us, be sure to let em know I sent ya ;->
This first one is a "something from nothing" challenge. I was limited to office supplies, cardstock, ink and stamps.

I'm doing a happy dance!!! I made the team! I'm so excited, YIPPEEEE!!! I'm really looking forward to all that is to come with them! There is some other really amazing talent I'll be along side of! Ok, all this dancing has made me tired! I need to get a little rest, I have a busy day ahead of me. But I plan on posting more about this later, and getting my pages loaded for you!

I'm having so much fun over at TLSS, I just wish I could tell you about all the cool stuff that is in the works over there! My advise is, go on over and get registered, so when this cool stuff starts to unveil, you will already have that taken care of! The DT still hasn't been announced yet, and there is such great talent in the running! I would hate to be the one making the call!! When the DT is announced, however, I will be able to post my latest work here for ya to gander at!
A bit of good news, well, it's great news to me! I will be getting published for the first time EVAH!!! It's an Ezine called Ready, Set, Create! I'll get a link and date for ya soon!
Something else fun, I got my first crop a dile! I'm glad a held out for as long as I did, cause I ended up getting the new one that can go 6" deep! See, my dear sweet husband, as much as I love him, cannot buy good gifts for me at Christmas unless I just flat out show him what I want! So I returned my gift this year, I won't say what it was just that it was not scrap related, and then used that money to order the new tool for myself! It came yesterday and I got it out of it's package, but still haven't had time to play with it.

I created my very first sketch on the computer! It was super simple, to my surprize! I have been really busy with the 2nd dt round over there and having a ball! As soon as it's over I will share all the lo's that I've worked on! Or you can just look in the gallery there if you want a peak!

A Blast From the Past!

This layout was done a long time ago, but I wanted to post it here for a friend of mine. She shares the same admiration as me with Elsie Flannigan! And, besides this is one of my all time faves and it should be here, right! BTW, this layout won a freestyle contest at Scrappy Giraffe Kits when it was created.

Here are a few more "freestyle" layouts I have created. Ya know, looking at these is really getting me in the mood to scrap another like them! Freestyle is so much fun!

I'm doing a happy dance!! I made it to round 2 of the DT call for The Little Scrapshop! I'm really stoked about this! Be sure to check out the blog, it's a great place and they have some amazing kits too!! Here is a layout that I created for one of the challenges in round 2. The challenge was to use only these products: cardstock, either ink or paint (not both), either stamps or stencils (not both), and office supplies.
Temporarily removed, will be back soon!

Christmas Gifts for the teachers!

Came across the cutest lil wooden desk calendars and they were unfinished, so imagine the lightbulbs going on in my head!!! I picked up a couple to do for Autumn and Ethan's teachers and this is what I came up with.

And, I haven't done any scrapping since! Well, I take that back, I did make one more of those for my SIL and used up some John Deere paper that I have had since I first started scrapping. But it seems that I failed to get pics of that one, oops! Anyway, I have been wanting to scrap really bad but can't find my mojo! It has up and left me without any hint as to where it might be hiding! My poor supplies are crying my name, I really hope my lil mojo finds it's way back home, and SOON!

I had a lot of fun doing this little Christmas tree, and I'm THRILLED with how it turned out! It started out being an ugly ole styrofoam cone, and I was able to make it something beautiful, at least I think so ;) I used an old line of Chatterbox paper, straight pins, whale heart punch, hole punch, ink, misc ribbon, and a Lil Davis chipboard star. Oh, and there is bling here and there, but you can't see them in the pic. Hope you enjoy the pic!
